We’re all bound by gravity, some just a little less than others. At a time when musical events are being canceled in flocks and upcoming artists are dropping their passion to pursue other directions in life, luckily we can still get excited about a fresh wind blowing through the industry. A collective of self-taught musicians, producers, and artists who are effortlessly pushing the boundaries of pop music in the lowlands. The Amsterdam-based collective, going by the name ii (pronounced “I and I”), is creating an eclectic mixture of syncopated rhythms, heartfelt narratives, and experimental sonic textures that they like to describe as “modern soul”.

Their first ep ‘0.18’ is as bombastic as it is intimate. With a playtime of only 12 minutes, ‘0.18’ picks you up with a gentle hand and only lets you go after experiencing a whirlwind of synth-driven reflective inner monologues: “If there is no pain, is there any progress? If there is a god, he sure seems godless”

Along with their music, ii are creating an aesthetically pleasing universe in which art is put back at center stage. Teaming up with creatives from several disciplines to sculpt a visual language that embodies a near synesthetic experience. A holistic creation that seductively flirts with your senses, while daringly inviting you to come along for the journey.
